Let's see what happens

I made this center block about 6 years ag. I was making a halloween quilt and tried to make cancy corns for the quilt, but my family said no way!!!, they didn't look like candy corn. Sooooo what did I do. I made a really hooky 70's looking flower out of the candy corns. This sat around for many years and now I have decided to make something out of this piece. So far this is what I have come up with. I used left overs from when I made my scrappy trip around the world. I am in the process now of making hour glass blocks that I will add next.
Before I add the hour glass blocks I will put a border of brown fabric. I really don't know how it will turn out, I am just making it up as I go along. I will keep you posted as I make more rounds and we will all see what the outcome is. I like this kind of quilt play.

Pink, Pink, Pink

This is turning out very pink. I am not a pink person but have collected pink fabric over the past few years to make a Breast Cancer quilt(scroll down to Aug. 2nd) and a pink and brown quilt . I have completed both, they are not quilted yet, but the tops are done and I still swim in pink. I have made two Trip Around the World, one baby and one twin and now this quilt and I am still swimming in pink. I will eventually widdle the pink down but in the process there is alot if pink. Oh I almost forgot I used pink in the Sex and the City quilt also.
The HAD quilt is very bright but I do think the black Valentine fabric I am going to use for the borders will calm it down. We are having a very beautiful day today and I might stop sewing to go out and do some yard work. I have much sewing to do but the outdoors is calling also.
Enjoy the week-end.

Working ahead

Well after the mishap yesterday with the back window in my truck I decided to sew the day away. I completed the quarter square triangles and decided to forge ahead. I have all 20 of the star squares completed. Here is a small sampling of the squares.
What we did with the truck, hubby and I cleaned up the glass and put plastic on the back window. It sure is a big inconvenience. I found a small glass marble in the bed of the truck, I figure this is what they used to break the window. Hubby spent time calling around for quotes on replacing and the expense is great. I just don't understand how others can think it is fun to destroy the property of others. Oh well we can only press on. I will close now and work on cleaning my sewing room. I have many charity quilts to quilt and some other tops I want to get quilted. Have a great day.

No Group Today

This is what I went out to this morning. I went to load my truck to go to sewing group and this is what I found. Some creeps durning the night thought it would be fun to break my back window. I just don't know what goes through some kids minds. Needlesss to say, I will be getting a new window for Valentines Day. Just what every women wants. Life does have a way of getting in way of fantasy.
Hubby will be home from work soon then we will go out and get a new window. I called the police and am waiting for a call back. There isn't anything they can do about it, it is way down on priority list, but just to report the incident. It might be a neighborhood thing or just an isolated incident. Oh well, life must go on. The way my year has started it can only get better.
I hope your day began better than mine.

Getting started

Here is the beginning of Quilt an Hour quilt for February. You can find the pattern and instructions over at Sunshine Quilts. Judy is so gracious to post the instructions each month, sew for a hour and have a top completed each month. I have made all the patterns she has posted and they are great. I look forward to this project each month. Thank-you so much Judy. I am planning a Valentine theme for this quilt. Let's hope it turns out nicely.
