I am an Obama Girl

I have decided I would be an Obama girl for Halloween. I dug out my boots and am breaking them in for the new Obamanation that we will be experiencing if he happens to win the election.
Don't worry, don't be jealous, you will be receiving yours in the mail as part of his redistribution program after inauguration in January.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are You Sure Revisited

Just one more post on the election. I know, I know, you are getting tired of this but I am sorry I have such passion to save our country and our form of government. I do not want to see this country become socialistic. I work hard for my money and I do not care to "spread the wealth" as Mr. Obama does. If you want money go out and work for it. I don' know of very many people who can make an income sitting at home singing the woe is me blues.
Why do Dem's pick on corporations and Republicans? Let me see, because they are mean and don't care about you. They just want your money and want to take advantage of you. Well where would this country be without these mean evil corporations, would you have your pampers, your swifters, your microwaves, your automobiles the gasoline to put in these automobiles. I could go on and on but you can hopefully get my drift. How many millions of dollars do celebrities make each year, I don't hear much belly aching about those incomes and I don't hear much chatter about them spreading their wealth, oh no, it is just those mean capitalists that make the economy churn and humm that are evil. What I hear about these beautiful people is how horrible theirs lives must be because they once again getting a divorce or how we should be celebrating their once again pregnancy out of wedlock or with someone other than their spouse, or how sad they are in rehab again. Do these people really do anything to make our lives better but yet they are glorified, worshipped and admired, yet the corporations and business that really do make this country and economy run are evil and must be done away with. How many of you out there make a living form the millions of dollars a celebrity has in their bank accounts? How many of you have your retirement accounts in the Olson Twins, Matt Damon, Oprah, or The View. Think about this.
I do not want a socialist/Marxist in the White House. I do not want a liar, yes you read that right, I called Mr. Obama a liar, in the White House, a man who said he would run his campaign with public financing and decided he would not abide by his decision and did not do that. What makes me think he wouldn't change his mind on other important promises he has made along the campaign trail.
Why would I want a man in the White House that won't even prove that he is a U.S. citizen. He has been sued to prove his citizenship and he will not provide the proper documents for that. Mr.Obama has all his important documents sealed, why is that? Is this man hiding some important information from the American public. You might question some of this statements, well go back and check out links I have posted or google and find out for yourself. You can go to Obamacrimes.com or worldnetdaily.com, Drudge Report or many other sources out there. We live in the age of information but yet Americans are more misinformed than any other time in history. Is this because they only get their information for the unbiased (tongue in cheek) news media. We all know about their overly sick love affair with Mr. Obama and their out right distain for Mr. McCain and his running mate.
Do you really want a man who raised records amounts of money in the month of September and through out his whole campaign (in which he will not disclose where most of this money came from) but yet is running low on cash now that the race is coming to a close http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/10/25/obama_and_mccain_running_low_on_cash/.
Does this show fiscal responsibility? Do you realize between him and the congress (who happens to be run by the Dem's) they will have open season to your money with no regard on spending your money and raising your taxes.
Oh, speaking of taxes, well Mr. Obama does not have to raise the taxes on the middle class, all he has to do is wait for the Bush tax breaks to expire in 2010 and guess what, an automatic tax increase. Very clever Mr. Obama, another deception on your part.
I know you are getting tired of this but guess what, the media will not tell you these things. Please I beg of you, PLEASE do some research before you vote. Find out some of this information, remove the veil before it it to late. We are just now feeling the results of many of the Carter administration policies. Can we really survive 30 plus years of Obama policies.
Do you want freedom and capitalism well then vote McCain.
Do you want socialism?Marxism well then vote Obama.
Research other countries with socialism, they are not hard to find, talk with immigrants from these countries (they are not hard to find either) and find out their views on socialism. Why are they in America, is it because of the freedoms they have here or is it because of the scenery. I have seen pictures of other countries and the scenery looks really good to me but I don't think I like the policies of their governments. Really take this election seriously, there is more at stake here than just the person who lives in the White House, there is also the ideology of the person who resides in the White House.
VOTE CAPITALISM
P.S. I have not started practicing my lock step marching yet and I hope you have not either.

Brunhilda's Pantry

Brunhilda's Pantry is completed. Well almost. I have yet to sew on the tag and date the quilt. I usually sew a little Rantala Rags tag and put the year in the lower right corner of my quilts. I like the outcome of the quilt.

I decided to take a picture and show the cool Halloween fabric I used for the backing. I am working on another Halloween quilt right now. I know I should be doing other things but I want to get this done before Halloween.
I just thought of a great idea. I was thinking, (since we are becoming socialistic and people don't seem to care), I have noticed others have fabric stashes that are much more stocked then mine. Well, I was thinking you should share the wealth and send some my way. If you are interested please drop me an e-mail and I will send you my address.
McCain--CAPITALISM
Obama--SOCIALISM
Vote on Nov.4th and read some of my previous blogs for insight into your decision. Dot
I just found another profound must read:

ARE YOU SURE

Are you sure this is the change you are looking for in America?
Are you sure you really want to change from capitalism to socialism/Marxsm?
Are you sure you are really ready for empty hope?
Are your sure you are ready for the Yes We Can mantra- yes we can spread your wealth?
Are you sure you are ready for a president who does not keep his promises, exhibited by his pledge to use federal funding for his campaign and then changed his mind to use private funding. Who knows what other promises he will change? Maybe his tax policy. Who do you really think pays the taxes? I can guess it is not this candidate and his friends.
Are you sure you want a president who has had to denounce many of his close friends that could have destroyed his campaign?
Are you sure you want a president in whom his own running mate does not have full confidence in him?
Last but not least are you sure you want a conservative quilter with a very active imagination out of work? Just look what happens when I have to much time on my hands.
Remember to vote and only vote once. Please disregard the ACORN mantra-- vote early and vote often.

Politics and voting

I really did not ever think I would write about politics on my blog but this week I just could not stand it anymore. I am sick of the medias love affair with Obama. He probably is a good man but his politics and vision for America are not good. Do you want the change he wants? Do you want to see American become socialist or dare I say Marxist? Is this the vision you have for America? The vision where we take from one and spread the wealth to others. (Didn't other countries try this and live under this form of government with dire results?)
Isn't this the type of government that causes many people to leave their homeland and come to America. They come for freedom, freedom to do the work they want, freedom to live where they want, freedom to say what they want. (Oh we are slowly using this freedom in America, we have been silenced in many subtle ways.)

Maybe socialism is what is behind Mr. Obama's YES WE CAN mantra--- yes we can take your money and do whatever we want with it. You can make it - we can take it, after all father government knows what is best for you and your money. I am sorry Mr. Obama, you have never meet me and you do not know what is best for me and my money. I have lived my life making those decisions and I pray you will never have that opportunity.

Hope- OH yes let us all hope you do not become president so you do not have the opportunity to implement your socialist/Marxist ideas. If you do win the election lets us HOPE that the American people will wake up and prevent your socialist/Marxist policies from ever being implemented.

I can only vote, (only vote once) and pray that the outcome of this election is in the plans that God has for this good country that I live in.

Here is our other option. Is Mr. McCain the perfect man for this position. I will say NO!! He is the man who wants to keep America a capitalist country. He is just like the rest of us, a man with a history, he has done many honorable things and things that he is not proud of, but haven't we all. He had the courage to choose an intelligent, young running mate who can and will bring new ideas to this country and Washington. Unfortunately our American media is not in love with this side of the ticket so one has to really take the time to find out the good things about these people. It takes time and a commitment to do that, we can not be spoon fed, which the mindset of the public right now is to be spoon fed.
John McCain understands the American I grew up in, the America that is capitalist, the America that has freedoms, the American that allows one to keep his earnings and spend them how the wage earner sees fit. This is the American I want to keep, the America I want to leave for my grandchildren to grow up in.
This is the way I see this election, We have to choices.
Choice 1-- John McCain-- capitalism
Choice 2-- Barack Obama--socialism/Marxism
You make your choice I will make mine.
You might wonder why I am writing this post now so far from November 4th, election day. In Oregon we no longer have the privilege of going to the ballet box on election day, we vote by mail. Ballots were sent out yesterday and we will start our voting when we receive our ballots. Oh, how I long for the day when I did not have to pay to cast a vote( I have to stamp my ballot so it can get to the elections office) or I could walk to the precinct and cast a ballot. That is what voting is, not sitting in my house, filling out the ballot, placing a stamp on it and hoping that it will get delivered and not lost along the way.
I am not a very eloquent writer but I hope that somehow through this muddling about politics you can understand my frustration and fear with this election. I am frustrated with the media and their love affair with one candidate, how the facts are not portrayed but an agenda is pushed down our throats, how one man with one tough question for Mr. Obama can be torn to threads in 24 hours but yet after two years of campaigning we know nothing about Mr. Obama. I don't understand and I can only guess that this is what our spoon fed society wants. America maybe this is our wake-up election.
Vote and please only cast one vote. I will ask you not to follow the mantra of ACORN--vote early and vote often.
Have a good week-end.
Fight on Trojans.

This is it

This is how I decided to end my Brunhilda's Pantry. I have yet to applique the cat but after that I can prepare a backing for the quilt and start quilting it. It is a rather large quilt, measuring 66x79. I like what I see and I really like how my crystal ball and cauldron turned out. This is the type of crazy quilt one gets when my mind starts going wild.
Well I must start getting ready for work. Have a good day. Dot

I was a sewn

Here is where I am now. I decided to sew on the Halloween quilt. Brunhilda's Pantry. I made the broom tonight along with the cauldron. The cat, the skull and the rat will be appliqued. I will cut out and prepare a few more skull heads and I think the rat needs to be bigger. I am wondering about the cat also, is it to big? Please let me know what you think.
Time to get ready for bed, almost time for the news, then bed.
Good night to all. Dot

My Prize

Last week Paula, The Quilter, had a drawing and I was fortunate enough to be one of the winners. This is the beautiful scarf she sent me and look at the really cool bad it came in.
Thank-you Paula and I certainly enjoy reading your blog.

She's back

Hubby did not like the new version. He was disappointed with the new face so I went back to the original. He liked the original and whom should I make happy. I will finish things up during the week and think about the face.
I really appreciate comments so keep letting me know what you think. Maybe next year I will make a witch with the pointed nose and wart but it won't happen this year.
Have a good evening. Dot

Progress???

Here is where I am now. I redid the nose and the forehead. I don't really know if I am happy with it but it is going to stay as it because I am tired of working on it. I added a hand to the jar in her hand. I will now work on the cat and possibly a mouse or rat. I think I am going to leave the broom off. I will make that decision after the cat and rat.
Have a good evening. Dot

Where I am now

This is where I am right now. I have to stop for awhile to get things done around the house. I think I am going to make the nose larger, longer. I had already thought of this and it was suggested by Ali Honey at Quiltingorchardst also.
More sewing later, house needs now. More sewing later, house needs now. This will be my mantra for a while.
Have a good evening. I will keep you updated.

Working on the pantry

Here is a picture of the witch I have designed for my pantry quilt. Please, please, please, let me know what you think. I am winging this thing as I go along and would like some input. I need to work on some more jars for the pantry make a cat and a broom. I will look forward to any comments.

I have been sewing

I have been sewing. I completed my Christmas booty swap but I think I need to redo it. It came out to big. It measures about 24" square, I will check with Toni and see if this is okay. I have washed and ironed new fabrics for a smaller version.
I made a child size trip around the world, no picture because I don't want to pin it to the wall right now for a picture. I will do that in a few days.
Here is a flower square I made last night while listening to the debate. I thought it was a good debate. It certainly is interesting listening to all the political talk about it today.
I will leave you with some food for thought. I thought about this last night while listening to the debate.
Do I want a president that needs to be mentored or do I want a president that is a mentor?
Think about it and leave me your thoughts.
