Christmas decorating saga

This is my decorating story and I am sticking to it. Now that the college football season is over and the bowl games have not started yet it is a good time to decorate. Last Saturday after my sewing group we were going to start decorating. This is where I got before hubby decided the family room needed to be painted before we could decorate it. Sooo here is the beginning of painting the family room. He painted for awhile and decided it wasn't going as well as it should.

Sooooo last night we went out to get new paint. The small yellow patch you see on the wall is the new color. It is brighter than I thought it would be but will be just fine.

Here is what he had done already. I agree, it is not turning out well but it does look like stucco. I just want my home back to normal so I can go on with decorating and get ready for Christmas.

I am not into all the "it just has to look perfect stuff". I did not want a tree this year, we did not have one last year and I loved it. Hubby wants a tree so we will have one. I will let him do most of the work on that and I will decorate and make it festive around the house.
I have been assured all will be done and decorated for Christmas. Keep your fingers crossed. I will let you know how it turns out. Dot

Lovely, warm, cheerful color you have going on there and look how nice that pink in the ladder looks with it - eh? You have to break a few eggs to make an omelete. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Wow! That's some serious decorating - painting walls and all!

I just got the tree and a few things up so it looks like we celebrate Christmas around here. Now about those cards...

So, now that that's done, you can send hubby over to paint my house. It really needs the interior freshened up with some color.
I like to have a tree up because it's the main thing we decorate. Just a few other red and green things strewn about and I call it good. I also keep it (Christmas decor) to the dining, entry, and living room areas. How lazy is that?

Ok, wall painting this close to Christmas? Wow! It looks great -- but I can understand that you want it over with and back to normal!

It must ben a man thing wanting to redecorate just before Christmas. I don't think us women would dream of doing such a thing! The colour is gorgeous though - very summery and bright.

I like the new color choice . . . even better that Hubby is doing all the work *s* Can't wait to see it all done and decorated up.

I love that new color. I have that color as an accent in my family room mixed with terra cotta, green and cinnamon. Can't wait to see it finished!

I'm chanting good thoughts for you...it's all going to be good, it's all going to be good :) The color is warm and inviting and it will actually work out in the end. Change is hard and mess is terrible. But if hubby wants Christmas and he's willing to do the work AND clean up afterwards...more Santa power to him. Hang in there, Dot!
