Two more completed

I completed two more quilts this week.  The strawberry quilt is from a Fons and Porter magazine, May/June 2016.  I like it much better than I thought I would.

This Hunters Star quilt I made with 5" squares I received as a Christmas gift from my brother in law and his family one year. I worked on and off on this quilt for a couple years.  I used a paper piecing pattern for the blocks.  I am really happy with the outcome. I was a bit concerned at first because the fabric was a combination  of Asian and Hawaiian fabrics, they live in Hawaii.

I had always wanted to make a Hunter's Star, now I can check that one off my bucket list.

It has been very very not here this week end and I did get a lot of sewing done but mostly on a mystery quilt.   The final clue comes out tomorrow.

Have a great week.  I pray your summer is going well.

May God Bless you

Chemo Cap

I have a patient who is going through chemo therapy now.  She has lost her hair and was wearing a fleece chemo hat when she came to the office for her appointment.  I had just found a free pattern for a chemo cap on the internert. Milly's Tie Hat Pattern at www.brimmingwithlove.org but did not know anyone in need of a chemo hat.  I asked her if it would be okay if I made her one and she said yes.  This is what I came up with.  I hope she likes it.  If she does I will make her a few more.

Hope your day is blessed.

6 more completed

My most recent completed quits.  I am busy using up my fabric.  All of these patterns have been found free on the internet.  I can not remember where or the names of the quilts.  Some from Moda Bake Shop and others from different fabric websites, such as Michael Miller.  The baseball quilt is from Easy Quilts, winter 2012.  Most likely all will be donated at the end of the year.

This watermelon quilt is a mystery quilt I did through a Facebook quilting page.  I plan to use it as a tablecloth for our patio table.  I put pockets on the corner when I did the binding and will put a hole in the middle of the umbrella to fit through.  Most likely use a buttonhole stitch around the edge or maybe zig-zag.

Hope you enjoyed seeing these quilts.  I am working on finishing up a Hunters Star I started last year.
Hope your year has been blessed so far. May God continue to bless you.

Until next post

All good until..........

It was going real good until I was almost finished with the quilting then I realized I had a block turned the wrong direction.  This is the second quilt I made with this pattern and I was so excited to quilt this one.  I had decided to work on my freehand feathers and ruler work.  Humming along then I run into the problem of a turned block.  Not going to fix it,  I would have had to take the quilt off the quilting machine, turn the block and reload.  The quilt was finished as is and will go to someone who will love it imperfections and all.

I pray your day is blessed and until next post, May God Bless you all.

Selfie

I made a selfie.  I took this picture of myself a few years ago while camping.  I did a black/white picture of the photo then made the selfie.  I did the orange head band for a splash of color.  I was originally wearing a blue bandanna for a head band.

Until next time, may God bless you.

Finished

"Jumping in feet first" finished.  I learned a lot during this process and already have another idea in mind.  My next project is going to be black and white with a little color.

I can not say I am completely happy with the outcome but I am happy enough to move on.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week-end.  We are hot hot hot in the Pacific Northwest.  I know that is not the same everywhere.  Make the most of the days you have.  Until I post again, May God Bless you and yours.

Getting ready

Another completed quilt.  I made this while vising my mom a few weeks ago.  I had the body done but did the borders and quilting after I got home.  I am really not a Steelers fan but this fabric was given to me so I made a quilt with it.  I will donate and someone will love it.

Have a blessed day and God Bless
