Top Done

I finally completed the golf quilt top for my brother.  This is a quilt that was requested at least two years ago.  He wanted a golf quilt, and I know nothing about golf. My brother sent me ideas he had, I choose the one I thought I could do and am now ready to quilt the  top.  I am so happy but I bet not as happy as my brother will be when this is done.  I will post a picture of the completed quilt after I know he has received the quilt and seen the finished quilt for himself.

Long time coming

Well I know it has been a long time since I have posted but I have been busy.  I know that sounds like an excuse but it is the truth.  I started a new job and career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  I have been working 4 days a week.  This work is very busy work and when I get home I am tired.  There is much walking and being on your feet all shift, but a very rewarding occupation.

 This is one of the quilts I have completed this week.  I started this about 6 weeks ago, but I also had 3 other quilts going at the same time.  Working on 4 quilts at once is plan crazy.  Not only do I have 4 quilts going but I also had 4 knitting projects going.  The pattern is Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Mountain Majesties.

Airing of the Quilts

 Today there was a quilt show in Milwaukie OR.  It is called "Airing of the Quilts", my friend Diane (from Pine Point designs) and I went.  Here a the quilts that I found intriguing enough to take pictures of.

 This quilt made me thing of Judy from Patchwork Times.  She is always having adventures with her chickens.

 I like this concept for a winter/Christmas quilt.

 Someday I will make a T block quilt but I don't think I will use this setting.

 This quilt is fun, it reminds me of being at the beach.

 card trick quilt.  The story behind this one, the lady standing there found this quilt at a thrift store for 10.00.  She bought it, brought it home, rounded the corners, put binding on it a bam a great quilt.  It was my favorite quilt of the show.

Well that is it for today.  I best get working on the golf quilt.  MY brother probably thinks I have forgotten about it.  No I have not and am working on it now.

Pinks done

One more top done, I used left over pink squares from other quilts.  The left overs were from many many moons ago and finally got them used and out of the way.  I am making progress in getting rid of them even thought I still have about 5 containers left.  Even a little dent is a dent.

Not much else going on.  I did pass my boards for CNA so now I am licensed.  I don't have my license yet but I did pass the written and the skills.  I did much better than I thought.  I am happy and now on to find a job.

Late but done

I finally took the plunge and did the Orange Crush mystery offered by Bonnie Hunter many moons ago.  I wanted to do it when she offered the mystery but life got in the way and just have not got around to it until now.  I am happy with the out come and I really like it because orange is my favorite color. 

I want to wish every one a Happy St. Patrick's Day.   I need to go to the store so I can get the items needed for my Ruben sandwiches we will have for dinner.  I love having a Ruben with green beer to celebrate this day.  I will be thinking about it all day until dinner time.

Well I best get to my chores, quilting and studying.  I have my CNA boards on Tuesday, I really need to study and refresh myself on the knowledge and skills.

Charity quilt

My latest complete.  I wanted to use up some of my brown fabrics, saw this pattern in a quilt magazine and decided this would be a good choice.  I am not a brown person, started collecting brown fabrics because I didn't have any when I needed them and now I have way to much.  I don't care for the quilt, decided to take it to Montana for the camp but hubby says no way.  He doesn't like it either so he and I agree, charity quilt for sure.

Now onto to tax info for the day.  I need to get my tax info collected and sent off to my favorite CPA.  My beautiful daughter in law is a CPA and she does our taxes for us.  What a sweetie to put up with our tax info.

Top Done

Top completed.  Now onto the next.  I have another quilt top to quilt and other quilts to piece.  I spent yesterday piecing together the backing for the next top to be quilted, trimming and sewing together more HST's for the next quilt.  (I am getting them sewn up and out of here).  Oh I also continued my McLeod's Daughter marathon on Netflix.  It is a great show.
