Trip Around the World

I have finished the 25 snail trails or Virginia Reels needed for the SITP I have started. I am very happy that I am done with these blocks. I need to start making the star blocks but have decided to take a break and do something else. I decided to take a trip around the world with Bonnie from Quiltville. I have made her pattern before and really like the simplicity of it. These are the fabrics I will be using. This is acutally a picture of the strips sewen together before ironing the seams.
I received my order from Knit Picks today. Oh, I am very happy with the yarn. I need to finish what I have started before I can begin to open any of these skeins. I plan to use the white for socks. I will dye it as I want it done.

The colored skeins will be used in felted booties. I will work on then through out the year and give as Christmas gifts. I do have another order coming. I want to knit a couple pair of mittens and had to order the yarn for that. I am so excited that I found this site.
Well on to sewing. Have a good evening. Dot

The quilts in progress are looking lovely.

And that yarn!!! Yum!!! I love their stuff...but then I'm pretty much a newbie in yarn shopping and usage. Mama always says: Practice, practice, practice! ;-)

Great blocks! And that yarn - oh what fun. I just keep thinking I should try a little harder to learn to knit. When I see all that yarn I just want to dive right in *s*

I fell in love with SITP quilts a couple of years ago at an outdoor quilt show and thought I'd like to make one eventually. The yarn is lovely. I haven't purchased from knitpics but I do listen to the podcast. What weight is the yarn? Worsted? or fingering?

Your snails trails look wonderful. Great progress! I'm hoping to finish my circle quilt soon so I can get started on those.

I have made one trip around the world quilt, and it was a lot of fun. I'm hoping to make more eventually. Probably should quilt the one I made first though.
