This is the quilt top I have been working on. I don't have enough of the floral print to make pinwheels for the sides, any ideas on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Right now the top measures 48x58.5. I don't like how it doesn't look completed without sides completing the sashing around the Colorado Beauty blocks but am at a loss on what to put where the pinwheels should go. I will keep looking at it and dig thru my stash to see if I can find any fabric that might go along with this floral print. I just remembered I do have some purple thistle fabric that might work. I like how it is coming together. much different than I anticipated. Who knows what the final outcome will be. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE leave me any suggestions you might have.

Could you make some more pinwheels out of the sashing fabric? Or will there be a final border out of different fabric that you can use for the final pinwheels. As long as what you use appears elsewhere in the quilt I am sure you will be fine.

I agree with Jodie that as long as the fabric is elsewhere, you can come up with a design that works. Pinwheels of the sashing fabric along the outer sashing could make a smashing sashing (sorry, couldn't resist the wordplay!). Could be great! Good luck, hope you find something you are happy with.
Oh, you used the light fabric for the pinwheel. I thought I needed the dark there. See my post. Thanks so much for this idea. I love the block (and how you have put them together, too).
I think I would just carry the striped sashing around it and leave out the pinwheels. More of a border than sashing, but it would flow nicely.
Beautiful!!!
Ok, I did not mean "around" it, I meant down either side. ;)
I think I agree with Bren. Do you have enought to just to the stripe down the side? I think that would tie it together..and make it look complete.
