Bathrobe

Okay am I wrong or not. What baby needs a bathrobe?

When my daughter found out she was pregnant she bought a few baby items. All of have done this with the excitement of being pregnant for the first time. One of the items she purchased was a baby bathrobe just like this one. I laughed and told her it was such a waste. Who wants to put a bathrobe on a baby and what baby can even walk to wear a bathrobe. I hence started calling it the baby's smoking jacket. Well, one of her friends gave her another robe, just like the one she bought, so she thinks I need it at my house for the baby. Oh and not only that she received two more at the shower. Now tell me what baby needs one robe let alone four. Am I just to old fashioned or does anyone else think this is strange? Please let me know. Dot

I think it is awfully cute, but when my baby was little, it would not have stayed on for a minute!!

If it's terrycloth inside it would make a great after bath wrap. It's hard to towel dry a wiggly baby. If you put that on you can use it to keep baby warm and help dry after a bath.

LOL...FOUR?? I'm with you, I don't see the need. I use to get a nice towel and sew the top edge together to use as a hoodie section of the towel and wrap the baby with the rest. I have a feeling some of those robes will never be used :)

I got one as a gift when Thing Two was a baby...and instead of using it as a robe, I used it like a towel. After I took him out of the bath, I wrapped him up in it and cuddled him for a few minutes, and then by the time I was ready to get him dressed, he was dry. It kept him warmer than a towel would and I didn't have to keep rearranging it like I would have with a towel.
But four is too many, one should be enough.

I had no idea they made bathrobes for babies. I suppose if you take the baby swimming you could wrap him/her up in the robe to keep warm afterwards. :)

Hmmm... one in the closet, one at each Grammy's house, and one in the laundry.

YUP!! Can use all four ...

(I tried!!)

HUH? It's hard enough to dress them ONCE after a bath, this seems like dressing them twice? I don't get it..... but it's cute!!

One bathrobe maybe . . . it is great for snuggling . . . but four? Probably not.

PS - From a Red Sox fan to a Yankees fan . . . I love the quilt!

This is the first time I've heard of a baby bathrobe. Cute marketing idea. Yet another thing for people to buy as shower gifts. Guess it would replace the standard hooded baby towel. Sounds like one more added step to the after bath routine. The only thing I was ever concerned about after bath was getting that diaper on ASAP. Still chuckle when I recall my hubby running around the house screaming after my son peed right into his (hubby's) mouth. A valuable lesson was learned by all!

Well, it is cute. And probably could be used to wrap up after a bath instead of a towel. So four robe/towels - why not? *s*
