Finished but not happy

Well, here it is. This is the quilt I made for the up comming wedding. The colors or should I say color for the wedding is red. I found this pattern in a quilting book, it is called "Stepping Stones", it was featured in the red and white and I loved it. I wish I could say I like the outcome. The pattern is nice, it is easy to follow, the problem is the quilting. I tried and tried to get the tension right and just would not go. I will give the couple the option of keeping the quilt or not. I will make it very clear to them it won't hurt my feelings if they decide not to. If they decide not to I will make them another, if they decide to I will still make them another. I will make it for their first anniversary.

We had an intimate appearel party for the bride- to -be last night. It was so much fun, but I didn't understand the invite. I thought it was going to be a party where the items were purchased at the shower, but, I was supposed to buy an imtimate nighty and bring as a gift. What I fool I am!!!!!!!! Oh well the bride -to- be knows me and thought it was funny I was confused by what I did. I will get her something and give at the next shower on Tuesday night. I guess better late than never.

Not much else. I have a busy day, housework and a Christmas lunch. My mother-in-law is moving into assisted living today, so that leaves my husband and me to clean out her apartment. We plan to start working on that this week-end. She feel on Tuesday and put a good gash in her forhead, fortunately did not break any bones, but her Dr. won't allow her to go back to her apartment by herself, she needs to go into assisted living. It will be a good thing. We have been talking with her about this for a couple years now and now there is no choice. God works in mysterious ways.

Good day to all. Only 10 days to Christmas.

I had a quilt recently that no matter what I did, or how much fiddleing, the tension just would not sort itself out right. Thank goodness it was a quilt for me. That pattern is nice.

The quilt looks beautiful in the photograph - if it had been made for me I would want to keep it, dodgy tension or not.

Don't be so hard on yourself Dot - the quilt looks wonderful! I think we are our own worst critics - I bet it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. I bet the happy couple won't find a thing wrong with it. It is certainly a stunning pattern, especially in those colors.

I think it is a pretty quilt and I think you are being too hard on yourself about the quilting.
Hope your MIL gets to feelin better, and that your cleaning goes quickly and smoothly.

Looks lovely to me Dot. I think they will like it. Take your time with the cleaning...I know from doing the same job for our olds it is tiring work.
Season's Greetings from NZ.

Hi Dot, I think your stepping stones turned out very well. Sorry about the quilting problems.
Always seems to have to be when it's a quilt for something special, right?

The block you were wondering about below is called Jack in the Box. It was the first block I made in a quilting class. We hand pieced one block to make a pillow..that was my choice of patterns..*VBS* Wish I still had the pillow, but it's gone. I haven't forgotten my Christmas Frogs. They won't make an appearance this year, due to the ongoing eye problems, but I want to set them like Linda J's framed look..but in red and white..*VBS* I think they will be gorgeous done that way. Hugs, Finn
