Just a quick post of the completed quilt. I don't have an official name for this one. I will just call it unusual snowball for now. I like how it turned out. I do think maybe the background fabric should have been a wee bit lighter but this is what I have.As you can see I once again made a mistake. The block in the bottom left is turned on end. Oh well, keeps me humble and lets everyone know I am not perfect.
Now on to the cleaning and starting on the next quilt. Yes this was part of the cleaning. Taking the necessary pictures to get the quilt out of the way to move on.

I love this quilt. I have always the same : a block turned upside down and everytime I think that it won't happen again :-)
I would never have noticed the turned block if you handn't said anything. Nice job. It reminds me of cremesickles (is that how you spell it?).

The quilt is beautiful. The block taking a wrong turn is not even noticable, but like you said...it keeps us humble. Way back when, (not sure when) quilters use to make a "mistake" on purpose to show only God is perfect.
How did the pink and black fabric turn out?
I have heard that the Amish purposely turn one block on its side. So - you can say you did it on purpose to distinguish your quilt - sort of like your 'trademark'.

You could call it 'Mr. Hooper's Snowball' or 'Sesame St. Snowball'...one of these things is not like the others....
Some of my favourite antique quilts have mistakes like that and I still love them. I think the quilts gorgeous, but isn't it amazing that you could work on it all that time and not notice until it was done? Must mean that the 'mistake' didn't jump out at you, so why worry?
So many things to comment about! First, your quilt is super and i didn't notice the block until you mentioned it. Second, the Sisters show was fantastic. Thanks for sharing. This is one show that I would love to attend just once. Third, what a great idea about overdyeing. I never would have thought of this and what a great way to tie in fabrics so there is one common colour. Can't wait to see what you do with them.
