Just call me a copy cat

I hope you all read Tonya's blog, Lazy gal quilting. If you don't, you should, the link is above. You might want to put it in your favorites also. Well anyway, Tonya is working on this great Halloween Bouquet and I just can't help myself, I have to try my hand at it also. I just fell in love with hers when I first say it. This is my version so far. I will add more later and the fabric I have placed for the vase is just that. This is most likely the fabric I will use for the vase but right now it is just folded and placed there. I am having fun with this project even though it is time consuming, I have never done applique like this before. I am sewing interfacing on the fabric then turning it right side out and pressing. There is probably an easier and faster way but this is the technique I decided to try with this project. I will make a few more flowers, add some leaves and them some more halloweeny items. Cats, bats, and I don't know a witch??? maybe a moon. I will see where the piece takes me. I found a pattern for a skeleton, I don't really know. Stay tuned, my pink/black quilt is on the back burner until this is done. Not much else, just wanted to share this new project.

Wheee!!!! You're not a copy cat at all. This doesn't look anything like mine. I LOVE your ghost flower. Now I'm trying to frantically think if I have anything similar so that I can try that too. Please, please, do me a favor though and don't use a pattern for the skeleton - or anything else. You CAN do it yourself. It will be much more interesting that way, I promise. I'll talk (okay, write) you through it, if you need encouragement.

I'm with Tonya. Stay away from patterns. It looks great as it is and that way it will be all yours.

Hi Dot, just dropping by to say hello. I loved your citrus quilt, and enjoyed joining you at the Sister's quilt show. I am intrigued at your pink and white quilt - look forward to seeing it finished, and have enjoyed watching you quilt your snowball quilt. This Halloween quilt looks like a lot of fun.
