Just a crazy picture to go along with my post. My son made this for me a few years ago. I had it as mt wall paper for a while.
Now about my arms. No surgery as of today. The choice was mine, with no surgery my arm will be a bit deformed but I can live with that. I am not a hand model and my arms and hands are not insured for millions of dollars. Maybe I should look into that though, being my line of work and my enjoyment of quilting and other hand crafts. I swelling was quite a bit under the ace bandage but not much discoloration. Doc said the ER Doc did a great job setting the bones, he was very impressed with the job. He was impressed with my lack of pain and said I will be able to go back to work soon. I had to promise not to take the ace bandage off of my left arm and wear the splint on my right arm more. I have another appointment next Wednesday, if all goes well there will be no surgery and hopefully back to work the following week. I am so excited about the news. He said I will have the strength to use the clutch when all healed also. Pray for a good speedy recovery. Dot

Glad to hear no surgery and sorry to hear about the injury in the first place! My father in law dropped his bike last Nov. and shattered his ankle. Luckily he is now walking on it and riding again (at the time the doctor's weren't so sure he would do either)! I understand the need to get back on the bike. Heal quickly and pay attention to the physical therapy/doctor's instructions -- it really helps to speed recovery and make sure you can get back up and riding.
That is very good news....sorry to hear about your mishap. Will pray for a very speedy recovery and hope you will be back to doing all the things you love.
Wow, that is really amazing! So glad that the appointment went so well and that you'll be back to normal in no time. Or should we call you Abby "Normal." Ha ha! Just kidding. Ever see Young Frankenstein?
I'm glad things are healing well for you. I can't believe how much you are using your hands, though - typing, sewing - - maybe you do need to insure them! :)
Yeah!!! No surgery. You need to follow the rules of the splint though!! Take it slow.
So sorry to hear about your little er big er accident. Not good...but could have been worse I suppose. I do wish you a speedy recovery and healing time with lots of diversions to keep your mind OFF the things you are not able to do.
I read your news last weekend, but didn't realize you live in Portland and I was still in Portland.
I'm glad you won't need surgery and I hope you heal fast.
I just read about your accident. Ouch ouch. Promise to be careful with your arms! I hope you heal well and do not need surgery.
