Politics and voting

I really did not ever think I would write about politics on my blog but this week I just could not stand it anymore. I am sick of the medias love affair with Obama. He probably is a good man but his politics and vision for America are not good. Do you want the change he wants? Do you want to see American become socialist or dare I say Marxist? Is this the vision you have for America? The vision where we take from one and spread the wealth to others. (Didn't other countries try this and live under this form of government with dire results?)
Isn't this the type of government that causes many people to leave their homeland and come to America. They come for freedom, freedom to do the work they want, freedom to live where they want, freedom to say what they want. (Oh we are slowly using this freedom in America, we have been silenced in many subtle ways.)

Maybe socialism is what is behind Mr. Obama's YES WE CAN mantra--- yes we can take your money and do whatever we want with it. You can make it - we can take it, after all father government knows what is best for you and your money. I am sorry Mr. Obama, you have never meet me and you do not know what is best for me and my money. I have lived my life making those decisions and I pray you will never have that opportunity.

Hope- OH yes let us all hope you do not become president so you do not have the opportunity to implement your socialist/Marxist ideas. If you do win the election lets us HOPE that the American people will wake up and prevent your socialist/Marxist policies from ever being implemented.

I can only vote, (only vote once) and pray that the outcome of this election is in the plans that God has for this good country that I live in.

Here is our other option. Is Mr. McCain the perfect man for this position. I will say NO!! He is the man who wants to keep America a capitalist country. He is just like the rest of us, a man with a history, he has done many honorable things and things that he is not proud of, but haven't we all. He had the courage to choose an intelligent, young running mate who can and will bring new ideas to this country and Washington. Unfortunately our American media is not in love with this side of the ticket so one has to really take the time to find out the good things about these people. It takes time and a commitment to do that, we can not be spoon fed, which the mindset of the public right now is to be spoon fed.
John McCain understands the American I grew up in, the America that is capitalist, the America that has freedoms, the American that allows one to keep his earnings and spend them how the wage earner sees fit. This is the American I want to keep, the America I want to leave for my grandchildren to grow up in.
This is the way I see this election, We have to choices.
Choice 1-- John McCain-- capitalism
Choice 2-- Barack Obama--socialism/Marxism
You make your choice I will make mine.
You might wonder why I am writing this post now so far from November 4th, election day. In Oregon we no longer have the privilege of going to the ballet box on election day, we vote by mail. Ballots were sent out yesterday and we will start our voting when we receive our ballots. Oh, how I long for the day when I did not have to pay to cast a vote( I have to stamp my ballot so it can get to the elections office) or I could walk to the precinct and cast a ballot. That is what voting is, not sitting in my house, filling out the ballot, placing a stamp on it and hoping that it will get delivered and not lost along the way.
I am not a very eloquent writer but I hope that somehow through this muddling about politics you can understand my frustration and fear with this election. I am frustrated with the media and their love affair with one candidate, how the facts are not portrayed but an agenda is pushed down our throats, how one man with one tough question for Mr. Obama can be torn to threads in 24 hours but yet after two years of campaigning we know nothing about Mr. Obama. I don't understand and I can only guess that this is what our spoon fed society wants. America maybe this is our wake-up election.
Vote and please only cast one vote. I will ask you not to follow the mantra of ACORN--vote early and vote often.
Have a good week-end.
Fight on Trojans.

Bravo, Dot. Very well said. I have another way of looking at this election which I know you will understand -- the timetable of fulfillment of prophecy based on who is in office. If Obama is elected, our country will decline as a result of what someone has said "a goose stepping parade into the abyss of undefined change". McCain's election will serve as a postponement of the inevitable. I gauge where we are in history by the outcome of this election. I'm voting for McCain but if Obama wins, we'll be that much closer to Ezekial 38 and 39! Exciting times we live in.

You are not alone in fearing the outcome of the election and the future of the country.

The Bible talks about how Noah was vexed in his spirit by all the evil that surrounded him. I feel the same way. While I cherish the concept that the majority rules here in the U.S.A., I am also saddened when I see what appears to be the media influencing so many people. Are we that stupid to believe that what is reported is the truth? After all, each story is related by an individual who has their own agenda and preferences. I have gotten to the place where I listen carefully to what is said and how it is said. I see the media (and national political organizations) manipulating information and injecting it with opinions and extraneous data. Never in my 57 years have I ever heard of poll results being reported on a daily basis. I question the truth of those polls and hope that more people would do the same. Unfortunately, I believe that the vast majority of voters believe what they hear. That being the case, I think that we Americans will get exactly what we deserve. The potential election of a man with so little actual experience is the equivalent of taking a junior executive, fresh out of college, and making him CEO of the largest corporation in the world. To believe that he will act on his own is naive and unrealistic. He will for certain be reliant upon the political cronies that helped him get where he is. And most of them have been in office for at least the past four years doing nothing but fighting the present administration. In the end, we are all in this together and if the wrong choices are made, then we will all suffer together. May God Bless America!! --Lady Di

I am so on the same page as you Dot. Thank you for having the courage to stand up for what you believe in. It seems like so many are afraid to criticize "the chosen one'. If people really listened to what he has to say they would be very afraid! I am so glad that McCain chose Sarah Palin. She is a breath of fresh air in this election. I agree with you that it is a shame what the Obama campaign is doing to Joe the Plumber. What an outrage!! My dear, this makes me like you even more = )

Fortunately, I don't have to worry about how to vote, as I live in the UK. However, I would say that Americans have to think more about the different candidates' foreign policies, as the USA is such a big world player. As I understand it, McCain and Palin are very shakey on world politics, and Sarah Palin is extremely inexperienced to say the least. Barack Obama seems to be more informed and has chosen an experienced and mature running mate. It;s a good job we don't all think the same, or we'd have empty blogs!

I will be happy when all of this is over, I'm not sure my b.p. can take much more of this! I sure didn't know about Oregon's voting method. I pray for control of my own capital.
