Too much going on

I started working on this snowball/nine patch last month.  I saw the picture in a quilting magazine and decided to try my hand at it.  I have more brown fabric than I thought so I decided to make the quilt with browns and what snowball.
Here is a picture of blocks done and a couple more rows started but I just had to put aside to start on the Bonnie Hunter mystery in Quiltmaker magazine. I truly enjoy the mystery quilts Bonnie comes up with and I didn't want to miss out on this one.  I can honestly say I do not like the instructions given in the magazine.
I think they give the measurements poorly and it took me a while to figure out exactly what I was supposed to do.  I had to ask another quilter on facebook to be truly honest.  If they want a 3.5 unfinished block please state that, don't give the dimensions to cut the triangles to sew together and not give the dimensions of the block unfinished or finished for that matter.  I will muddle through but my heart goes out to those who do not  have as much sewing experience as me, or maybe it is just me and others do not have the same problem.
Under this pile is another quilt I am working on, that I have placed on the back burner, and buried to work on the mystery.  I will get back to that quilt as soon as the blocks for the mystery are completed.
Here is another picture of my pieces for the mystery.  The brown quilt will be worked on again on Saturday at the quilting group I attend.  It will be a good project for me to take to group.  I started it last month, spent the entire time cutting the blocks so the ladies will be happy to see where I am with the progress on the quilt.

I do have two knitting projects going right now also, and one I am itching to start but won't, not until I complete one of the other ones.  But than again that could change, I am getting together with a couple of friends for knit time on Friday night so I just might have to start the new project than.

Enough for now, I need to get back to trimming.

May God bless you and yours and help us save our country.

you are not the only one that feels that way about the instructions in Quiltmaker. I whine about it every time I make a project from that magazine. I get confused with sew and A to a B to form unit Y...and I never know if my finished units are the right size until I think about it for a long time.
