Well here is the progress on the Montana quilt that I started back in February. I think the progress is going along fine. If you remember from a post back in Feb. I am getting the concept for this quilt from the cover of Rotary Cutting & Speed Piecing. The pattern is not in the book so I am doing in the way I wanted. I think I should have made my flying geese with a longer base and not so small but that is how it is. I guess these will be tamarak trees and not tall firs.
I am just about finished with this portion of the quilt. I will write out MONTANA on all four sides using Tonya's wonky letters. As usual I will post picture when completed. Just thought I would post some of my progress. Have a great day.

Looks like you are making pretty good progress!!
I really, really like the quilt the way you made it, and the letters will make just that much YOURS!!
I remember seeing a similar look on some quilt in a Country Threads book long ago, love it then, and yours is better with those great background colors!!
Its lovely and you are making great progress. It looks like a lot of work : )
What a pretty quilt.....and I like the shape of your trees with the shorter flying geese. It looks great!
VERY nice quilts. Looks like you have fun making them. ONIONS! Yum! Have you ever tried combining a sliced up onion with 1/3 c vinegar (any flavor), heaping tsp. paprika, salt & pepper and then nuking it in the microwave for 3-4 mins? These go great in a salad, on a burger, or just as a condiment.
I can't believe they'd put a quilt on the cover of the book and then not tell you how to make it. Better to make it YOUR way anyway. Love the colors. Think about putting your name and the year on it too. Make it that much more yours.
